An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join Service Stream in our Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract
About the Role
ConnectSydney, a dynamic joint venture between Service Stream, Boral and Johnson Controls, will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. A Technician will be responsible for planned maintenance, minor upgrades, fault and incident response and repairs across a diverse range of asset classes such as traffic control signals (TCS), variable message signs (VMS), traffic monitoring units (TMU), variable speed limit signs (VSLS) school signs, street lighting and many more road side electrical and electronic equipment
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Rockdale, NSW
Reporting Line: Supervisor - Network Delivery Team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the effective inspection and repair of various TfNSW roadside device and associated equipment
  • Responsible to update records accurately and undertake scheduled maintenance and inspections of various TfNSW assets in the network
  • Responsible to ensure work teams implement and abide by Connect Sydney’s Safety and environmental requirements
  • Responsible for the accuracy of individual and work teams time keeping and ensuring Company policies and directions are adhered to
  • As a technician you will take responsibility for effectively managing your own and small works team’s daily task
  • Respond to asset faults, incidents, and customer complaints to investigate and repair defect’s impacting the performance and safety of various electrical and electronic devices
  • Report on and liaise with other stakeholders when required
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all internal and external staff members of Connect Sydney
  • Work shift work as required and be available to respond as required by set rosters
  • Utilise when required any training and tickets you hold
  • Be Flexible in designated work areas and shifts to provide support or coverage when requested
  • Maintain active participation in an ongoing technical related personal development course to attain accreditation in one primary skill

About You:

  • Experience Working on TfNSW electrical, electronic and communications assets
  • Experience and knowledge of environmental, health and safety procedures
  • NSW Supervisors or contractors Electrical License.
  • Current driver’s license

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Implement Traffic Control Plans
  • Authorised Traffic controller
  • Communications Open Cabling Licence
  • Communications Cabling and Fibre Accreditations
  • High Risk Work Licence (WP)
  • Safe Working at Heights
  • First Aid, CPR and LVR
  • PLC and/or communications networking certificate.
  • General Construction Induction Card
  • EWP License
