Description:
At the Toxicology division we aim to improve the scientific basis of chemical risk assessment through fundamental and applied innovative research, teaching and training in mechanistic and predictive toxicology. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative technician to achieve these goals and strengthen our Toxicology Division, which is made up of four research groups: Endocrine-, Immune- and Neuro-toxicology and Exposure Assessment. You will be working on different activities and projects, all focused on improving in vitro toxicity testing.
YOUR QUALITIES
We are looking for a colleague with a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc)/HLO degree (or equivalent) in the field of life sciences and/or biomedical sciences, with a strong interest in cell biology and toxicology. You have a good verbal and written communication skills in English. Moreover, you are able to work both independently and in our dynamic team.
Experience with cell culture techniques is essential. Experience with molecular analysis and cellular imaging techniques is considered a plus. A diploma on animal experimentation (EU function FELASA A+C; ex. art. 13f.2) is an advantage.

Your position will be in the Toxicology division of the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS). IRAS is an interfaculty research institute within the faculties Veterinary Medicine, and Medicine. Our mission is to provide education and research on the human and environmental health risks of exposure to potentially harmful agents in the environment where research takes places within the domains Toxicology, Environmental Epidemiology and Veterinary Public Health.
