Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is seeking a Techno-Economic Analyst. You will combine technical and engineering expertise with financial analysis to enhance existing models, develop new assumptions, and deliver high-quality insights for internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU HAVE?
- A successful track record in a similar role within an academic, technical, or management consultancy environment; or relevant academic experience.
- Demonstrable problem-solving ability and the capacity to manage conflicting requirements.
- Strong financial and economic modelling skills, including high proficiency in MS Excel and other analytical tools through the development of in-house models.
- Knowledge and experience working within the renewable or energy environment with a solid financial background.
- Confidence in effective communication in both technical and commercial/business language.
- Needs to make rational and commercially based decisions.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU NEED?
- A PhD or equivalent in a technical, mathematical, or scientific discipline.
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Scope out requirements for detailed techno-economic modelling and agree on action plans to identify and implement appropriate detailed assumptions and model structures.
- Identify and action appropriate balance between a consistent set of linked models and the need for flexibility and specific functionality in bespoke models.
- Regularly update financial and related databases for publicly available data and capture relevant data generated in Catapult projects (maintaining client confidentiality where applicable).
- Understand financial analysis support needed by the Cornwall team the Analysis & Insights Team and the wider organisation.
- Identify opportunities for, and support the production of, Analysis & Insights publications on finance and economics-related themes.
