About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to fill a Technology Director - Cloud Op Model Transformation lead role. The position requires strong influence to affect real transformation. The person in this role will interact with all levels of CIO organizations such as CIOs, CAEs, Platform Leads, Developer. This person will also interact with other enterprise functions such as Finance and Service Now. The position requires scaling through other organizations in CIOs organizations such as transformation, architecture, engineering, and platform management.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Drive strategic direction with CIOs on Cloud Enablement vs Consumption where enablement is focused on the benefits of cloud to the enterprise and not only focuses on migrating applications to cloud
  • Advocate and enable optimal ways to adopt cloud that maximize cloud advantages and minimized cloud’s undesirable outcomes
  • Drive new Ways of Working (WoW) with maximizing advantages of the entire Cloud Enabled developer lifecycle and not just focusing on infrastructure consumption
  • Clearly define and enable value proposition for public vs private cloud and on-prem capabilities
  • Create a comprehensive system to track progress of Cloud Operating Model maturity and adoption by CIOs
  • Help CIOs with defining the successful Cloud adoption journey and enable them to execute on it. Help CIOs recognize and celebrate their successes in cloud
  • Day 2 operation model
  • Collect and baseline all existing efforts related to Day 2 including work by Platform teams, CTO, and external Consultants
  • Drive alignment on the target state with CTO and LOB Platform leads
  • Gradually increase the confidence in ability to operate with the right tooling and processes
  • Define and enable CIOs to execute the journey of shifting Day 2 responsibility to DevSecOps
  • Implement organizational structure to build in DevSecOps capabilities into L4 Products
  • Shared Responsibility Model operationalization
  • Break down the model into consumable implementation roadmap for each CIO with milestones aligned with greater cloud adoption
  • Enable CIOs with required support to drive adoption of Shared Responsibility Model
  • Identify and integrate relevant tooling and practices to successfully transition more responsibilities to CIOs
  • Upskilling program of App and Platform Teams pre, during, and post cloud adoption. Define and support learning paths for applications and infrastructure developers to make them ready to operate new cloud services and applications deployed to cloud
  • OKRs and Business Case definition
  • Drive business case definition for Cloud Operating Model
  • Program efficiencies tracking
  • Align and track relevant OKRs between LOB and Cloud
  • Work with CIOs to help them write business cases for efficiencies
  • End-to-End view and clarity for Group CIO to instill confidence to move to Cloud
  • Team’s readiness to migrate and support (Skill metrics, Skill goals)
  • Operational readiness
  • Clear Roles and Responsibilities for
  • Infrastructure
  • Database management
  • Operations
  • CoP, Relationship management
  • Build CoPs with CAEs and Platform leads
  • Understand their pain points and priorities and provide clear alignment
  • Understand the approach we are taking on Omega platform and drive towards CIO adoption of the platform and maximizing of Platform benefits
  • Support any special requests to address blockers and concerns
  • Administer Hackathons to increase engagement

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience leading strategy for an enterprise transformation effort aligned to the entire firm or a line of business or a large function with the firm
  • Experience in establishing a Cloud Op Model Transformation strategy and executed with one of the major public cloud platforms like Azure or GCP
  • Experience leading large scale technology transformation. Modernization and re-architecting of Digital stack to public cloud and private cloud
  • Significant experience leading complex technology initiatives in a large and dynamic segment of a financial services organization
  • Experience in executive leadership managing a complex technology organization of large scale, including senior managers, managers, individual contributors, and vendor resources across multiple global locations
  • Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing, and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong engineering background, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction
  • Proven experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership
