Description:

OVERALL SUMMARY

The Solution Architect will be responsible for working closely with senior stakeholders, Change and Technology, business representatives, CBAM’s third external delivery partners and subject matter experts to define and assist in delivering Technology Solutions aligned to CBAM’s transformational journey.
They will be responsible for defining and delivering roadmaps, defining application and integration strategies to support CBAM’s transformational journey, decision making for application architecture for cloud integration services.
They will define architectural standards based on best practices and repeatable processes ensuring they are embedded as part of the technical governance processes. They will play a significant role in defining, maintaining and communicating the CBAM’s IT Strategy, technology roadmaps and play an active role in technical governance.
They will be responsible for supporting CBAM in establishing the foundational Cloud capabilities that will enable the delivery of new services and the migration of existing services, evolving and maturing the Cloud capability and service proposition.
The Solution Architect will remain hands on and come from a proven Application/Develop/Infrastructure Engineering background with solid experience delivering best in class data platforms, Automation, Scripting, and Infrastructure as Code, integration, Virtualisation, Containerisation and resilient solutions.
They will establish a strong collaboration with CBAM’s strategic partners and internal engineering and delivery teams. They will lead a single view of Application/Solutions Architecture to support identifying new opportunities to improve, simplify or reduce the cost of application/infrastructure services, managing risk / regulation and minimising impact to our divisional businesses and customers

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop IT solutions that meet the business requirements and align with the company’s technology strategy
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the potential impact of proposed solutions
  • Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure the successful implementation and integration of solutions
  • Establish and lead on architecture principles, standards, defining reusable standards, guidelines, patterns, and strategies for guiding the use of public cloud and on-premises infrastructure services, , including system diagrams, flowcharts, and data models, to guide the development and implementation process
  • Provide support for the Technology Leadership Team in innovation, advice on strategic IT decisions, technology choices and the assessment of investment cases for technology using excellent written and oral communication skills to present ideas in a business and user friendly language.
  • Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact for CBAM and it’s enterprise architecture and deliver innovative solutions in support CBAM’s Vision and Strategy.
  • Support the Technology Leadership Team in defining a Cloud Strategy that considers the role of our strategic delivery partners with considerate of regulatory guidelines.
  • Supporting the assessment, migration planning and execution of on-premise workloads to the cloud
  • Identify opportunities to simply, rationalise and invest in Application services, leading the assessment and creation of a supporting benefits case.
  • Developing logical and physical architectural models that demonstrate how recommended SaaS/cloud solutions meet the business requirements and add value
  • Collaborate with other architecture teams, business stakeholders, project teams and other staff to ensure designs are fit for purpose and will deliver the expected benefits to the business
  • Assist engineering teams to create and update all project documentation relating to the low-level design, ensuring adherence to both IT architecture and high-level design principles.
  • Apply appropriate, structured methodologies and implement architecture standards and industry best practice
  • Design architectures using the principles of re-use and complexity reduction, while balancing performance, scalability and extensibility
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organisation remains competitive and innovative.
  • Support the business in our journey to become data-driven, by capturing and understanding their business needs, and defining and implementing Data and Analytics reference architectures, solutions and roadmaps.
  • Provide clarity, thought leadership and design blueprints on Data management including migration, mastery, redundancy & lineage.
  • Design and develop solutions architecture, data architecture and data governance specs based on the to-be processes that are part of the business and digital transformations.
