Responsibilities include:

  • Engineering, implementation, and maintenance of Operating Systems and monitoring tools
  • Daily administration of systems infrastructure
  • Build and implement deployment and management tools and processes for efficiency and consistency
  • Automation of repeatable tasks, processes, and procedures, provisioning, alerting, monitoring, reporting, maintenance, backup recovery, and business continuity/disaster recovery process
  • Analysis and resolution of system-related incidents
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process for refining the architecture, performance, and scalability to improve the quality and uptime of the environment
  • Coordinate the deployment of new hardware to meet client expectations
  • Develop and enhance system policies, procedures, and controls
  • Ensure adherence to Information Security guidelines
  • Collaborate with international clients and global internal teams

Technologies integral to our operating environments include:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS (Microsoft Windows is a plus)
  • Automation and deployment tools (Puppet, Chef, Ruby, Jenkins, GIT, Python, Perl, Shell scripting, or similar)
  • Clustering (RedHat Cluster), Virtual IP management
  • Postfix / Apache / Tomcat / OpenLDAP / Active Directory / MS-SQL / MySQL / MariaDB
  • Networking devices: Cisco, Arista
  • Server hardware platforms: Dell / HP / Cisco UCS
  • Virtualization Hypervisors: VMware, RedHat KVM, Ovirt
  • SAN/NAS Storage (e.g., EMC, Hitachi, NetApp)
  • Monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, ITRS, Spectrum, CheckMK, etc.)

Requirements

  • MUST WORK US EST Hours
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of UNIX/Linux Systems Engineering experience within a large infrastructure environment
  • RHCSE or RHCSA or RHCA is preferred
  • Very strong problem-solving skills, with proven ability to analyze, determine root cause and resolution of complex problems
  • Experience in tracking and analyzing performance and resource utilization of systems, as well as recommending capacity changes, upgrades, and enhancements based on the technical analysis to ensure high availability and maintenance of SLAs
  • Good analytical skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work and think well independently, and in a team environment
  • Good understanding of the risks and potential impact of working on a 24/7 live environment
  • Strong experience in production support of 24/7 live environments. Must be able to work under extreme pressure with a good understanding of the risks and potential impact of managing client-facing global high-end and low-latency servers
  • Participate in the implementation of solutions involving data encryption, data masking, secure file transfers, and data leakage prevention
  • Able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) if needed
  • Motivated, hardworking, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven crisis management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills
  • Financial Services industry experience is a plus
  • AWS experience is a plus
