Description:

Your Role
As our Technology Strategy Associate (d/f/m) (German speaking), you operate in a wide range horizontally – i.e. across various strategic topics that touch our technology product – as well as vertically – i.e. in in-depth technology projects and tasks. Next to taking over research & analysis tasks and small projects that pay into our overall technology vision, your goal will be to ensure that our technology roadmap and initiatives follow LIQID’s overall strategy to 100%. You will achieve this by – on the one hand – providing context to all stakeholders with regard to the technology planning and priorities and – on the other hand – actively steering sprints and short to midterm priorities together with our product owners and project managers.
To be successful, you will need to develop a deep understanding of the company strategy and projects across all departments and use this knowledge to manage technology priorities down to the ticket-level.

What do you exactly do?

  • Planning, prioritization, and execution: You will support in guiding the company roadmap and strategy by technical deliverables and priorities. To do so, you will form a strong unit with our product owners and senior project managers. While you will always have to keep a broad view on all activities and developments in the company, you will sometimes act as product owner in the individual task and ticket prioritization and sprint planning. Your broad view of the company allows you to identify misaligned communication or misunderstandings on the one hand, but – on the other hand - also enables you to support our product owners in defining requirements or gathering missing information.

Together with our project managers, you will keep an eye on our overall release plan and make sure that we have a streamlined process from the initial requirement all the way to the finished output – across all work streams.

  • Research and Analysis: You will conduct market and competitor (tech product) analyses for specific use cases in our operational processes (e.g. payment solutions, advanced KYC tools or in sourced tax reporting services) or to identify potential USPs on the technology side. Given your broad view on the overall company roadmap, you develop a long-term view on technology solutions and partners with the goal to think through solutions ahead of time and before the immediate demand occurs. For alignment of internal, competition, and customer viewpoints. Given your technology expertise, you will not stop with the analyses, but will create initial PoCs (supported) by utilizing different testing formats (i.e. A/B testing) to identify value-adding use cases, define clear requirements and develop an implementation plan. The necessary testing resources are provided by cross-department collaboration (i.e. marketing, BI, investment product, customer experience).
  • Context Setting and Proactive Communication: Next supporting in providing technical and strategic expertise, you will act as a glue between the technology teams and the rest of the company. This can reach from organizing all-hands or monthlies, explaining technology processes across the company, resolving misunderstandings to actively engaging in different stand-ups, team meetings or one-on-ones to connect the different perspectives. In addition, you will be approachable to our engineers to make sure that they resolve any unclarity or get the correct context for their specific tasks. In this capacity, you play a key role in uniting the “business” and the “technology” side of LIQID.

What you bring

  • Background: You have completed your studies in the field of economics / business informatics or related fields with above-average academic performance, ideally with a focus on management, IT, financial services or innovation, and are looking to start your professional career
  • Skillset & Qualifications: You have a keen interest in financial topics and related technologies. You also have a structured way of working and are characterized by independence, diligence and attention to detail. You speak German at a native level and have an excellent command of English. You have a very good command of PowerPoint and Excel - initial knowledge of Salesforce or Jira is a plus.
  • Mindset: You want to build up expertise in the areas of product management, operations, technology strategy and software development within a short period of time. You don’t shy away from challenges, enjoy dealing with complex topics and have a hands-on mentality. You have a technological, entrepreneurial and analytical mindset and keep track of several parallel projects. You feel comfortable in a demanding but informal scale-up environment and excel in communication.

What we offer

  • Diversity: Flat hierarchies and cultural openness make you an integral part of our colorful team of international talents from day one.
  • Flexibility: We don’t make your life complicated. You will find the right balance in flexible working models, working hours and mobile working arrangements. 28 days of vacation and 2 additional days off on December 24 and 31 also provide you with relaxed time off.

  • Development: We support your personal and professional growth with an annual development budget of €1,500. Additionally, at the beginning of your tenure at LIQID, you will receive high-quality equipment, including a MacBook, headphones, and a display.
