Full-Time, Permanent Position
JMT Consultants Inc. is an expanding structural consulting firm in search of an enthusiastic Tekla Steel Detailer to enhance our dedicated team. We expect the Steel Detailer to bring precision, efficiency, and a keen eye for detail to their work, actively contributing to our project successes through expert detailing and modeling. For those not local to Winnipeg, we offer an attractive relocation package and are open to remote work arrangements for exceptional candidates.
This role offers a dynamic work environment with a variety of challenges and continuous opportunities for learning. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, and other team members to precisely and efficiently detail structural and miscellaneous steel projects using Tekla Structures, maintaining high standards of client service and adhering to company protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Tekla Structures; specific training will be considered a plus.
- Over 5 years’ experience as a Steel Detailer or significant experience in a comparable role.
- Comprehensive knowledge in structural and miscellaneous steel construction and fabrication.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant Diploma, Certificate or work experience
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed Tekla models based on structural and architectural designs, ensuring compliance with standards and building codes.
- Execute connections of steel members as per the designs provided by Engineers of Record (EOR).
- Address any discrepancies or information gaps through prompt RFI creation and follow-up.
- Produce and revise drawings for Approval, Assembly, As-builts, and Erection phases.
- Liaise with fabricators, engineers, and architects to ensure project specifications are met.
- Manage the preparation and delivery of drawing packages to clients according to project timelines.
