Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Based in Brisbane, you will be part of dynamic, innovative, and collaborative team renowned for its world-class thinking and solutions.
You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of the communications system infrastructure package. You will ensure designs are constructable, develop scope of works, order materials, engage with various internal and external stakeholders to complete telecommunications infrastructure projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of telecommunications infrastructure package.
  • Preparation of engineering design documents, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work on time and within budget to meet project deadlines.
  • Understand the process relating to site design and site acquisition and relevance of Safety in Design.
  • Lead and participate in the infrastructure design review process.
  • Review design drawings and produce scope of work documents and BOM’s.
  • Ensure that project activities including designs are completed ‘right 1st time’ and where required drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify defects and co-ordinate rectifications as per agreed timeline.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and engineering design standards.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 10+ years’ experience as a deployment /project engineer on large scale Australian rail projects.
  • An engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience with design, construct and integration of Telecommunications systems including radio sites, power systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Proven subcontractor management experience.
  • Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
