Description:
EP Kilroot are recruiting for a Storekeeper within the Inventory and Warehouse department. This is a temporary position to October 2024. Reporting to the Inventory and Warehouse Supervisor, this position will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of stores in Kilroot, providing an efficient warehouse function which includes the receipt and issue of stock and non-stock items. The post holder will be required to provide a procurement service for products and services of an acceptable quality on a timely basis to service the needs of the whole organisation in a cost effective, professional and friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities
- General handling of stock and non-stock materials, in accordance with operational requirements for all user departments
- Complete associated stores and delivery documentation, update the ERP system and provide information to users as required
- Responsible for stock-checking, housekeeping and general handling of stores
- Usage of SAP to record stock updates, including issuing and receiving
- Working with other assets and suppliers on removal/sale/disposal of unrequired coal spares
- Providing support to the Warehouse Supervisor and colleagues as needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Background
Essential
- Good numerical skills and a logical approach to problem solving.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and an awareness of hazards.
- Experience of a stores computerised information system.
- Current driving licence.
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of SAP
- Current forklift licence
- Understanding of spares associated with mechanical, electrical and control components used within an engineering environment
- Procurement Experience dealing with suppliers, quotations and delivery charges
- Experience of use of overhead crane/routine slinging
Behaviours (Essential)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop and promote effective team-working.
- Must have a flexible approach to work and be prepared to work at either plant as required.
Qualifications (Essential)
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, alternatively considerable experience within a stores environment.
