Description:

The Terminal Administrator is responsible for ensuring supporting the Operations team to achieve operational targets through effective administration of all terminal systems.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Liaise with internal Operations staff (and external stakeholders) to support the movement of containers via the import, export and delivery control functions, as well as respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain office services by organizing/documenting office operations, safety bulletins, safety department stats and procedures, designing and maintaining filing systems, and coordinating supplies.
  • Ensure the proper the application of DP World guidelines and Collective Agreement.
  • Site user of the various terminal operating systems to facilitate ship operations, barge operations, and dock operations.
  • Monitor information for errors and verify and confirm data accuracy against relevant documentation.
  • Monitor and communicate information/changes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Enter purchase requisitions, process invoices and receive deliveries in the purchasing system in a timely manner.
  • Take on safety related tasks as required by the operations team such as minuting safety meetings, updating SOPs, documenting incidents / observations and supporting the shift managers in their safety tasks.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Post-secondary education will be considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting.
  • A willingness to take initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate and informative manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team and other departments.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
