Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Viterra is looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, and focused individual who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. We have a permanent full-time opportunity based at our Port Adelaide Terminal. Our terminal operator roles are responsible for the daily operations of the terminal from loading and unloading trucks, operation of hoppers, stackers and forklifts, maintaining bunkers, grain sampling and general cleaning duties. This role will be part of a supportive team environment during the harvest season, and will work closely with the seasonal workforce.
Viterra has a dedicated safety culture where you will follow strict safety procedures to maintain a safe work site ensuring the safety of yourself and others around you.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Loading and unloading trucks, bulk commodities.
  • Grain classification and quality control
  • Assist in the bulk export shipping programme
  • Responsible for keeping grain storage areas clean
  • Grid attendant and manual grain handling work tasks
  • Monitoring of bunkers, tarps and silos
  • Training and leading seasonal staff
  • Maintenance of site and equipment
  • Pest management
  • Authorised officer export inspections
  • Running the plant from the Control room
  • Frontend loader and forklift operations
