JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Territory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a regional office, geographical area, or branch of a fire and safety company. They work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies for growth and profitability, while ensuring that all services provided meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with local, provincial, and national fire codes and standards.
The Territory Manager is also responsible for overseeing the team that maintains and repairs fire, security, and life safety systems for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. The job involves managing a cross functional team, consisting of both union and nonunion resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory codes and standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful candidates for this position typically have post-secondary education in a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role in the fire and safety industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze financial data and reports are also important attributes for a Territory Manager in the Fire and Safety Industry.
  • Additionally, certification from a recognized organization, such as the Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) or the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT), may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of their territory, including operations and customer service.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans for growth and profitability, including market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer needs assessment.
  • Accountability on territory financial performance.
  • Ensuring that all services provided comply with local, provincial, and national fire and building codes and standards, and that all employees are trained and certified as required.
  • Adherence and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistency and quality of service.
  • Managing relationships with key customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.
  • Providing leadership and technical support to all employees, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Staying up to date with changes in fire and building codes and standards, as well as industry trends and best practices.
  • Facility management and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Leading a team of installation and service technicians to ensure they are meeting install, service and repair targets.
  • Ensuring that technicians have the necessary tools, equipment, and training to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
  • Conducting site inspections to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
  • Maintaining and calibrating tools and equipment.
