The Boeing Company is seeking a Test and Evaluation Laboratory Technician to join the Boeing F-22 Engineering Remote Labs team in Berkeley, MO. The Boeing test group consists of the F-22 Agile Integration Lab (AIL) and the 757 Flying Test Bed (FTB) located in Berkeley, MO. The AIL/FTB has the unique capability to fly prototype software and hardware as well as participate in F-22 Flight Test exercises.
This Technician role supports the labs by maintaining, modernizing, troubleshooting, repairing/fabricating, and Remove/Replacing equipment in the labs to keep testing interruptions to a minimum. The selected technician will also play a key role during testing to support engineering real-time during the tests. The job includes working in an aircraft integration ground lab as well as occasionally flying on the 757 Flying Test Bed. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated when working in a dynamic team environment.
Testing responsibilities for this role include:
- System Operators are responsible for ensuring the FTB mission systems equipment are powered on and receiving the proper cooling necessary to test. A test session will normally have several avionics start-ups in which the System Operator is responsible for monitoring the power and cooling to the FTB mission systems. They also provide expertise in the operation of the specific FTB systems under their control when necessary to testing and requested by the test focals
- Front Row Technicians are responsible for ensuring that the ground lab Air Vehicle and Weapons equipment are functioning and set up correctly to support the activities required for the specific tests planned to be conducted during the test session. They also provide expertise in the operation of the specific ground lab systems under their control
This position may require employee to utilize fall protection since they could be working 4 feet off the floor. Positions with fall protection require candidates to weigh 250 pounds or less as verified with Boeing medical. Additionally, this position may require candidate to become non-flight crew member of an experimental aircraft which requires a medical evaluation by Boeing Medical.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems
- Experience with soldering
- 1+ years of experience working in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
- Experience troubleshooting (cleaning/inspecting/handling) fiber optic cables
- Experience in military flight operations or military avionics technician experience
EXPERIENCED (LEVEL 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years’ related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems
- Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and posttest tear-down
- Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results
- Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems
- Works under general supervision
- Assists the lab team in ensuring that the test equipment is functional and properly configured for the scheduled test activities
- Supports occasional Saturday and extended shift as necessary to complete the mission
- Supports deployments onboard the Flying Test Bed, normally a week at a time
- Reads and interrupt engineering drawings
Additional responsibilities for levels 3 and 4:
- Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies
- Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements
- Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities
- Supports engineering drawing reviews and support product verification
