Test Automation Engineer

For our direct client we are now looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the test automation practice at our client, contributing significantly to one of their agile teams. Your primary responsibility will involve devising and implementing a robust test strategy with a strong emphasis on automation. Collaborating closely with subject matter experts and stream leads, you’ll gain insights into both technical and business requirements, enabling the construction of scalable and reliable test solutions through automation. Your tasks will encompass various stages including designing, planning, developing, testing, and simulating software, covering both functional and non-functional aspects.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proficiency in automation tools such as Playwright and Cypress.
• Strong background in writing and maintaining tests in TypeScript and JavaScript, including hands-on experience with test automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with integrating testing suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Competence in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, and Perl.
• Previous implementation experience with Selenium or similar automation tools.
• Familiarity with RDBMS, MQ, and Java messaging services.
• Proven expertise in designing and utilizing test automation frameworks for UIs, APIs, or Data Layers.
• A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly Agile principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the capacity to make informed decisions.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills, with fluency in English required.
• Knowledge of the financial industry domain and understanding of financial market standards and solutions would be advantageous.
• A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.

• Crafting an automation test strategy aligned with the overarching IT strategy.
• Demonstrating expertise in setting up functional and end-to-end test suites from the ground up.
• Creating, documenting, and maintaining reusable and sustainable functional and non-functional automated test suites using suitable test harnesses.
• Establishing and managing a repository of automation scripts for regression and life cycle testing.
• Implementing automation test frameworks that seamlessly integrate with CI/CD pipelines and maintaining the automation test environment.
• Identifying, prioritizing, and planning automation test cases effectively.
• Developing test automation guidelines and ensuring adherence to global test design and coding standards.
• Collaborating closely with QA members and software developers to devise automated test solutions.
• Actively seeking areas for improvement in test execution and delivery.
• Partnering with delivery teams and business stakeholders to troubleshoot the root causes of software issues.
• Mentoring junior team members.
• Providing comprehensive reports on automation script results, including successes and failures.
