rapitag has the vision to make retail safer, faster and more convenient than ever. Founded in 2017, the start-up has uplifted the traditional security tag into a multi-patented, high-tech IoT device enabling retailers for the first time ever to provide safe and fast self-check-out and significant process optimization for high value products.
For our Munich office we are looking for a Test Engineer (m/f/d) who, as a part of the Product Development team, will play an essential role in testing, developing, evaluating, and troubleshooting of key components and sub-systems for our commercial products. You are passionate about making things work reliably, safely, and efficiently!

Tasks

  • Take responsibility for designing and operating test benches for testing of electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Conduct reliability and stress testing to verify product specifications
  • Analyze components, test results, and identify root cause of failures
  • Optimize test technology, hardware and procedures
  • Communicate findings to the team via presentations and documented test reports (proposals for design changes, process adaptations, software bugfixes, etc.)
  • Assist in transfer of products to manufacturing
  • Support of product safety and technical compliance certification
  • Create and maintain timelines for the testing and manage the schedule according to the overall project timeline

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics or similar major
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in planning, conducting, and evaluating experiments or product development in an industrial or academic setting
  • Affinity for hands-on activities and the ability to identify and solve problems
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to create meaningful test reports
  • Highly self-motivated and independent critical thinker
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team including mechanical, electrical and software engineers
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German would be beneficial
