REQUIREMENTS

  • Java, Experience in BDD Test framework/ Cucumber
  • Experience or knowledge on Performance testing - tools, processes, environments
  • Functional testing experience in backend environments
  • Strong experience testing Rest APIs
  • Experience with Microservice driven architecture
  • Experience using Postman or similar API tools
  • SQL knowledge
  • Ability to utilise dashboards, and logs for investigations (monitoring and alerting)
  • Ability to write high quality documentation.
  • Functional automation solutions - languages, tools, formats
  • Good to have basic AWS knowledge alerting debugging

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a test engineer, with experience in the TV/media sector, your role as part of the RMS team is to build and maintain the APIs and associated AWS infrastructure that power the client teams for all of the streaming media and audio download services on Web, Mobile and TV platforms, as well as other audience facing products in this space.
This is a highly collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team that follow an Agile scrum framework shipping incrementally and often. The testers and developers work as a close team, often pairing on tickets together. The services are built as a reactive microservice architecture written in Scala, Java, and Akka and hosted on AWS and the team predominately follow a CI/CD approach. . The test automation framework is designed in BDD style using Java, RestAssured, and Cucumber with the performance test framework being build using Gatling.

EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
  • Proven experience as a Tester with a focus on TV/media-related projects.
  • Very good working knowledge of standard software testing frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
  • Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
  • Experience of planning, executing functional, systems and regression tests
  • Experience applying an analytical and detail-orientated approach to problem solving
  • and solution design
  • Experience with leading defect triage meetings with other disciplines
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting– finding critical bugs or verifying reported issues, identifying their underlying cause, and seeing them through to resolution liaising with other teams where appropriate
  • Good written and spoken communications skills
  • Knowledge of test automation and its value within agile delivery
  • Working knowledge of product/defect/test case management systems
  • Good understanding of usability and accessibility of applications and products
