If you’re ready for a challenging and rewarding career, apply now to be at the forefront of naval engineering excellence.
Electric Boat Corporation (EB) is seeking a Test Engineer for the Availability Support Group within Planning Yard Fleet Support Engineering, Department 495, to serve in a full time position supporting commissioned U.S. Navy submarines with the planning and execution of maintenance availabilities. This position is based in Groton, CT.
Department 495 is within EB’s Life Cycle Support directorate, and is responsible for non-nuclear technical support for commissioned VIRGINIA, OHIO, and SEAWOLF Class submarines for maintenance planning and execution, in areas of drawing and material support, configuration management, and certification. The Availability Support Group fulfills a key role in providing this support to multiple US Navy stakeholders during ship maintenance periods at Naval Shipyards and maintenance facilities.
The Test Engineer will help champion effective configuration management and quality assurance of drawings, technical variance documentation (TVD), and liabilities applicable to commissioned VIRGINIA, OHIO, and SEAWOLF Class submarines. This role supports the planning, execution, and certification of ongoing fleet maintenance and CNO availability work. This position may require occasional travel to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (ME), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (VA), EB’s Washington Engineering Office (DC) and potentially other locations in the conduct of quality assurance for drawings and liabilities, along with interaction with customers which includes representatives from EB, NAVSEA, Naval Shipyards, and the maintenance community.
