Description:
We are looking for four Thai chefs to join our team.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of the related work experience
- At least NZ Register Diploma Level 5 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification)
- Knowledge of Thai food ingredients
- Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Plan and update the menu in consultation with other kitchen staff and management.
- Prepare, freeze, preserve and cook foods.
- Food quality control.
- Estimating food costs, including ingredients, seasoning, labour and other necessary costs involving the kitchen operation.
- Recommend food prices.
- Monitor food waste.
- Stock check and order.
- Work with the management to hire kitchen staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers.
- Schedule kitchen staff’s roster, and conduct staff training by demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures and advising other kitchen staff of these techniques.
- Develop and maintain a positive team environment in the kitchen.
- Monitor food hygiene regulations within the kitchen.
- Ensure that cleanliness standards are consistently adhered to and cleaning rosters are followed.
- Direct and coordinate food preparation.
- Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlinesInspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance and advise management of any repairs or maintenance work required.
- Other duties instructed by the Director from time to time as necessary to maintain the sustainability of the business.
