Thai Chef

We are looking for four Thai chefs to join our team.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 3 years of the related work experience
• At least NZ Register Diploma Level 5 qualification may substitute for the experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to the standard of the New Zealand qualification)
• Knowledge of Thai food ingredients
• Knowledge of Thai food cooking techniques

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Plan and update the menu in consultation with other kitchen staff and management.
• Prepare, freeze, preserve and cook foods.
• Food quality control.
• Estimating food costs, including ingredients, seasoning, labour and other necessary costs involving the kitchen operation.
• Recommend food prices.
• Monitor food waste.
• Stock check and order.
• Work with the management to hire kitchen staff, including cooks and other kitchen workers.
• Schedule kitchen staff’s roster, and conduct staff training by demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures and advising other kitchen staff of these techniques.
• Develop and maintain a positive team environment in the kitchen.
• Monitor food hygiene regulations within the kitchen.
• Ensure that cleanliness standards are consistently adhered to and cleaning rosters are followed.
• Direct and coordinate food preparation.
• Modify work procedures or processes to meet deadlinesInspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance and advise management of any repairs or maintenance work required.
• Other duties instructed by the Director from time to time as necessary to maintain the sustainability of the business.
