Description:

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take charge of comprehensive project management functions such as communication, scheduling, resource allocation, and cross-team collaboration. Your role includes developing and executing detailed business requirements, managing project plans, and leading the execution of medium to large projects. You will work closely with business experts, project managers, and systems analysts to ensure projects align with business strategy, budget constraints, and timelines. Acting as a liaison between technical teams and end users, you will analyze data, create detailed reports, and provide training and support.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on GFL’s Trux & Tower applications and financial systems.
  • Manage projects using waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Lead multiple interdependent projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Excel in risk and issue management and facilitate workshops, tracking action items to completion.
  • Synthesize complex information into actionable business insights, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate various project teams to meet objectives, including managing virtual teams.
  • Develop and present comprehensive status reports for stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Adhere to project management best practices and governance standards.
  • Maintain proficiency in MS Office suite for project documentation.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by management.

Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of progressive project management experience in large organizations, using waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • PMP and Scrum certifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills with strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Self-managed with the ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate others’ activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of the system development life cycle.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematical analysis.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid work arrangement: in-office 2-3 times per week.
  • Home Office: 100 New Park Place, Vaughan, ON L4K 0H9.
  • Extended periods of computer use.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Some travel required.
