Theatre Orderly

Assist in transfer of patients to and from ward areas maintaining privacy and dignity throughout. Collecting post-operative beds. Collection and organisation of patients luggage and deliver to correct ward areas if required Assist with transfers of patients within the department in accordance with local moving and handling protocols. Cleaning of theatres and other operating department areas Disposal of rubbish and clinical waste in accordance with appropriate policies Acceptance, scanning and sending of sterile instrument trays to and from off-site sterilisation.
Handling sterilised trays and returning to appropriate location. Transporting of specimens to relevant location. Moving equipment between departments where necessary Check medical gas cylinders; replace as necessary (following training on cylinder identification). Ordering and maintenance of off-site laundry services Collecting drug orders from pharmacy and transferring them to the relevant staff member, maintaining stock rotation Collecting blood from the blood bank in accordance with Trust Polic
