You will also be admitting and discharging patients and the successful applicants base will be Llandrindod Wells Hospital.
Excellent communication skills are required to work within the department, to ensure effective working relationships so that we can deliver a high standard of patient care to Powys patients locally. The unit also supports training such as the First Assistant qualification and other training opportunities can be explored.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder is responsible for the assessment, evaluation and implementation of care given to patients within the perioperative environment, ensuring that they deliver the highest standard of direct patient care. The Day Surgery Unit is nurse led when working in areas such as pre-assessment, discharge and management of post discharge problems with the facilities to link with the visiting Consultants, Anaesthetists, Patient Services and out of hour’s services. The post will also link with the Outpatients department to ensure continuity of patient pathway.
Ensure efficient communication and education in health promotion and in the absence of the Team Leader the post holder may have responsibility for the operational management of the Day Surgery.
