Description:

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and flexible Band 5 Scrub Practitioner. at Leigh NHS teaching Hospital, you will be rewarded with real job satisfaction as confirmed by our employee surveys. Our driving force is our ability to invest in our people, as we support our Theatre Nurses and ODPs to build their skills through mentoring and formal training .
We are looking to appoint to a 37.5 hour per week post, worked across 4 days, Monday - Friday.
Spread over three sites Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh cover both acute and elective surgery with a wide procedure portfolio .
Across our three theatre sites teams work closely with some of the region’s leading consultants and are exposed to the latest innovative, evidence -based clinical techniques, on our Wigan site we have our integrated laparoscopic theatre our Wrightington site have investing a surgical robot and our Leigh site has currently expanded to four operating theatres.
This vacancy is open to all internal and external candidates. Please note all candidates could be asked to work at another Trust site as required.

On-Call

Responsibilities:

Adhere to Trust policies and maintenance of the professional Code of Conduct.

Responsibility for Health & Safety
Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 – the post holder is required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
Maintaining consistency within standards of care for both elective and emergency care.
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner with due regard to the Health and safety regulations.
Ensuring risk assessments of all situations are completed.
Taking appropriate action and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards.
Maintaining a duty of care towards personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
Maintaining compliance with the data protection act 1998 and information governance ensuring confidentiality is adhered too.
Effectively using verbal and written word to influence outcomes.
Participating in the timely recording of patient documentation ensuring that only accurate and effective data is collected about the care episode.
