Description:

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are seeking an experienced Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Urgent Care Therapy Team in the Acute Medical Unit , Frailty Unit and Accident and Emergency Department at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
The Urgent Care Therapy Team operates as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team and in close collaboration with colleagues from local health, social care and voluntary agencies. The team provide rapid access therapy assessments and interventions, enabling admission avoidance where appropriate and supporting early discharge facilitation. The team is made up of Band 6 and Band 7 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, all of which work generically across both professions to enable more timely assessment and discharge planning. The therapists are supported by Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioners.
The Urgent Care Therapy Team operates from 8am to 8pm seven days a week. As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner you would mainly be working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, but there is scope for possible flexible working and weekend work in the future.
Candidates will require previous experience as a therapy assistant, the ability to work effectively in an urgent care multi-disciplinary team and a proactive patient centred approach to therapy provision.
The Trust offers a friendly and supportive working environment which actively supports continual professional development, through regular clinical supervision, in-service training, and opportunity to participate in service improvement initiatives.
Following appointment you may also be eligible to apply for Degree Apprenticeship opportunities in the Therapy Professions if you meet the academic entry requirements.
