Qualifications and Training Essential NVQ level 4 in Health or Social Care or equivalent academic qualification and/or Significant recent experience of working as an assistant Physio / OT / SLT/ Psychology/Rehab/Therapy /Technical Instructor Evidence of recent learning or personal development Desirable BSc degree in related area Experience Essential Clinical experience of working in an NHS rehabilitation environment Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team Experience of receiving clinical supervision Desirable Previous experience of working as a Rehab or Therapy Assistant/technical instructor Experience of working in a community setting Knowledge and Skills Essential Excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills Able to communicate efficiently and effectively in English both verbally and in writing to patients, carers and colleagues. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team Ability to carry out therapy tasks for a specific patient group independently Able to take direction from and give good feedback to referring and supervising colleagues Able to deliver, monitor and adjust individualised exercise programmes autonomously Ability to motivate patients to achieve rehab goals Ability to communicate sensitive information to patients, carers and colleagues Ability to prioritise and organise own workload efficiently and effectively Desirable Understanding of rehabilitation and issues relating to promoting independence.
