Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs complex (journey-level) human resources management work. Work involves administering the agency recruitment program through actively recruiting potential agency staff and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Works in coordination with human resources and other program areas to hire and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Requires travel and ability to work in excess of 40 hours per work week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years of full-time wage earning experience in sourcing and recruiting for rehabilitation/treatment services to youth or adults in a residential setting, treatment, or correctional program (e.g., correctional officer, case manager, counselor, probation, or parole officer), or human resources managerial position which included the oversight of recruitment, selection, and hiring.

Required:

  • A valid Driver License.

Preferred:

  • Recruiting experience.

Experience and Education Substitutions:

  • Completed undergraduate course hours may be substituted for up to one year of experience, on a basis of 30 completed undergraduate course hours for one year of experience.
  • Experience requirements may be satisfied by the prorated part-time equivalent.

Note: Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be obtained from an accredited educational institution.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates the recruitment of applicants (recruits, screens, and interviews qualified applicants), evaluates applicant qualifications, and makes recommendations for selection.
Compiles and analyzes data; prepares correspondence and reports; makes conditional offers of employment; administers and scores employment tests as needed; and refers documents to the appropriate officials for processing.
Attends job fairs, career days, and other recruiting activities to provide information to stimulate interest in careers with the agency.
Performs target area analysis and recruits minorities through college placement centers, job fairs, and community organizations.
Monitors outcomes for racial, ethnic, and gender disparities and takes action to address identified disparities.
Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures :

  • Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
  • Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.

Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.
