Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Tooling & Equipment Engineer.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (B. Eng.) (Industrial Engineer preferred)
- Basic knowledge of SQL programming, and database management
- Solid knowledge of Continuous Improvement and 5s Methodologies
- Demonstrated analytical/project management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with cross functional departments.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, continuous improvement environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, and Tableau considered an asset.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead continuous improvement and capital projects to improve cost & efficiencies supporting business strategies.
- Support the overall process management for Facilities & Maintenance department as process champion.
- Lead the process for weekly KPI’s and reporting.
- Perform analysis of inventory, business trends, operational processes, and business data to identify opportunities and recommend changes to improve cost & efficiencies.
- Research and analyze new tools and equipment seeking durable products to achieve an increase in the efficiency of tools, equipment, and techniques driven profitable and productivity.
- Partner with key vendors as well as internal teams and external entities to benchmark best practices and to gain support and insight for projects and solutions.
- Power user for Inventory Management system, maintaining data pertaining to tooling and consumable inventories.
