Description:

We are looking for a Tooling Engineer to join our team in Stonehouse. You will have a qualification in engineering to HNC | HND level or equivalent and experience in plastic injection mold tooling.
We are looking for a Tooling Projects Engineer to join the Injection Mold Group at Sartorius. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tool procurement projects, liaising with suppliers and consult the product development team in development of plastic components in manufacturable manner.
The team consists of 7 professionals, in 3 different countries and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.
This position is available full time in Stonehouse with some hybrid working available, and you will be required to travel in the UK or overseas occasionally.
Our site in Stonehouse site is a manufacturer of plastic components and single – use products, such as lab scale bioreactors and filtration.

Responsibilities:

  • On a daily basis you will managing projects in production of plastic parts, according to industry standards, budgets and schedules
  • You will manage plastic tooling projects from prototype phase until handover to production. This includes development support, developing tool concepts, selection of suppliers, technical inspection, FAT as well as support for qualification for production
  • You will select suppliers and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • You will create tool management processes, material flows and product development processes as well as sign off final designs
  • You will work closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, Process Engineering, Design team and Simulation Engineering team
