Team/division description:
Chassis Division’s responsibility is:
1) Development of chassis parts and systems (suspension, tyres, steering, brake, wheels, shifter, steering wheel, …) to achieve the highest driving performance and quality at a competitive price.
2) Local development of chassis parts for vehicles built in Toyota’s European assembly plants.
This activity is done in close cooperation with local suppliers and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.
3) Investigation and pre-development of new European technologies.
We are inspired by the Toyota Way principles and we challenge to provide final customers with best quality products with the continuous improvement mindset.

The main expectation from a candidate in this area is to successfully support chassis systems and parts development. Below are examples of typical activities:

  • System & parts design to achieve target performance in multiple chassis area’s like suspension, tyres, wheels, steering wheel, shifter, …
  • Design and validate the vehicle dynamics performance, including brake control or power steering assist
  • Simultaneous engineering with our stylists in the development of components contributing to total vehicle style, like wheels, steering wheel, shifter, …
  • Simultaneous engineering with other stakeholders in R&D (e.g.: Body Design engineers, project planners, material experts, …)
  • Coordinate development activities with vehicle evaluation teams (e.g.: Ride & Handling, NV, Strength, Ergonomics, …)
  • Lead development with related counterparts in Toyota (e.g. R&D, quality, plant, purchasing)
  • Cooperate with suppliers to complete development tasks
  • Pursue cost and weight reduction activities with suppliers and purchasing support
  • Research and propose new technologies in the chassis domain towards actual pre-development
  • Proactive benchmarking activities for chassis system and vehicle performance
  • Review chassis performance, seeking further improvement for end customer
  • Support field investigations & troubleshootin
