We are looking for a Trade and Logistics Specialist to Helsinki. Our logistics team is dynamic and innovative, always seeking new ways to enhance efficiency and deliver top-notch service to our clients. You will coordinate the utilization of equipment and ensure a high level of service and cost-effective movement of goods. You will also be responsible for validating carrier invoices and ensuring that transport costs are charged according to agreed contract and purchasing guidelines. The position is perfect for you, if you have a customer-oriented mindset and skills to efficiently collaborate with various stakeholders. You will be working in close cooperation with ABB Local Sales Units globally, in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing demands and will need to pay attention to customer requirements while balancing transport requests with available transport options and communicating about service issues with shippers and receivers.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Communicating with transport service providers to place transport orders, receiving confirmations, providing custom instructions and monitoring important milestones
• Managing the delivery process in ERP and other systems/tools, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete
• Preparing various transportation documents related to export /import deliveries
• Collaborating with Logistics Service Providers to ensure smooth operations
• Handling customs clearance and duties procedures in coordination with Logistics Service Providers
• Analyzing and selecting optimal routes and transportation methods, balancing cost, lead time, and customer satisfaction while considering business requirements
• Developing and refining logistics processes and tools
• Arranging and coordinating import or export freight bookings with global logistics service providers
• Responding to inquiries from internal customers and logistics service providers regarding transportation issues, in consultation with regional and/or global logistics or trade compliance
• Collaborating with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer service, order management, purchasing or accounting

Qualifications for the role

• Several years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management
• Solid understanding of Incoterms and their application
• Expertise in import/export processes, customs, and duty handling
• Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics/transportation management systems
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, Finnish is an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
