DESCRIPTION

Corporate trade compliance and operations professional possessing skill sets and experience necessary to manage the efficient and economical movement of goods among CDW’s affiliates outside of the U.S. and Canada from order to fulfilment in accordance with organisational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country, and international customs laws. Reports to Trade Compliance Manager. Market competitive compensation.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with ERP systems and IT implementations.
  • Prior experience with retail, ecommerce or electronics industry.
  • Operational knowledge of foreign export laws and regulations, particularly those of the US and EU.
  • Familiarity with free trade agreements.
  • High degree of technology literacy and familiarity with technology-based trade compliance systems in particular.
  • Familiarity with EU, British Commonwealth and UAE trade and export control regimes.
  • Experience working as part of a high performance team.
  • Experience working with a U.S.-based multinational.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter guidance, know-how, best practices, and training development and delivery on trade compliance to a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Work closely with Logistics to manage end-to-end compliance with trade and export control laws and regulations in the delivery of CDW’s shipments, such as operational processes, export licensing, and classification of products including support to country-of-origin determinations.
  • Assist in developing a scalable framework for trade arrangements relying on smart, consistent, streamlined, technology-supported processes and tools including guidance, templates, checklists, training and controls embedded in IT, ERP and cloud platforms to maximize efficiency and quality of experience for CDW and its customers.
  • Execute business procedures, best practices, and internal controls necessary to ensure customs compliance to minimize business and legal risk, including creation of SOPs and documented procedures.
  • Assess, assign, and verify Export Control Classifications and supporting logistics and sales with HS tariff codes, special customs procedures, Incoterms and FTA’s.
  • Capably engage with government systems to support data determination, use of import/export licenses, customs matters, obtaining EUU’s and all other required recordkeeping.
  • Review sales orders and monitor procedures to ensure compliance with UK, EU, US, and other governmental trade regulations, including export license determinations, licenses and administration of SPIRE or trade-related accounts on other government platforms, and maintenance of verifiable end-user documentation.
  • Maintain records of import documents and monitor compliance of trade documentation retention.
  • Provide guidance on trade compliance related contract matters (e.g. Technical Assistance Agreements) and support implementation of Technology Control Plans including review, approvals, and recordkeeping.
  • Support internal/external and compliance verification checks and audits of tariff classification, FTA data, and broker submitted documentation such as customs entries or export submissions.
  • Develop and execute plans to correct issues resulting from audit activity with guidance from the Trade Compliance Manager.
