Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Purpose of Position:
The Trade Compliance Manager will oversee and coordinate all trade compliance activities to ensure adherence to regulations and optimize operational efficiency within the organization’s import/export processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Trade, or Logistics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export compliance
  • Proficiency in SAP and strong knowledge of customs regulations.
  • Subject matter expertise in logistics processes and project identification to drive efficiency improvements.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Annex 24 and Annex 31 regulations

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish).
  • Strong understanding of customs documentation and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities related to trade compliance, including receipt, transfer, and accurate inventory management.
  • Assign and manage personnel to efficiently handle incoming materials, ensuring timely offloading and routing within the facility.
  • Coordinate distribution of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) items throughout the facility to support operational needs.
  • Ensure seamless delivery of raw materials to manufacturing areas to prevent production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits to meet departmental objectives.
  • Develop, update, and implement trade control and compliance procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure maximum compliance with Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) requirements.
  • Coordinate dispatch of materials based on production requirements to avoid interruptions.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues that may impact inventory accuracy or production continuity.
