Trade Compliance Special Duty Savings Program Manager (New Health Care Company)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Trade Compliance Special Duty Savings Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize duty savings opportunities for clients through duty drawback, free trade agreements, FTZs, Bonded Warehouses, GSP, Chapter 98 programs, TIB, China 301 tariffs, US goods returning, IPR, and OPR.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of Solventum’s supply chain operations to identify areas for duty savings optimization and provide guidance and advice on the eligibility criteria, compliance requirements, and benefits of various duty savings programs and free trade agreements.
  • Collaborate with Brokers, Freight Forwarders, internal business partners, and external partners to ensure seamless implementation, ongoing compliance, and savings capture with duty savings programs and trade agreements.
  • Stay continuously abreast of changes in trade regulations, tariff schedules, and international trade agreements to proactively advise clients on potential impacts and opportunities.
  • Monitor the status of duty drawback claims, FTA certifications, TIB expirations, and other submissions to ensure timely processing and maximize benefits for Solventum.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on duty savings programs, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities for duty savings optimization and expand our service offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to duty savings programs and client engagements.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited university and 10 years of trade compliance experience in a private, public or governmental environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of 14 years of trade compliance experience in a private, public or governmental environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing duty drawback, free trade agreements, FTZs, Bonded Warehouses, GSP, Chapter 98 programs, TIB, China 301 tariffs, IPR, and OPR
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and trade finance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in trade compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
