Responsibilities:

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE:

Join Metso at Karratha’s newest and best equipped repair facility. We are seeking a Trades Assistant to work as part of a team providing support to factory production, performing allocated tasks to meet prescribed targets, criteria and deadlines.
These positions are on an 8/6 roster and can either be residential in Karratha (preferred) or FIFO from Perth.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Adhere to WHS Policy and programs to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.

  • Adherence to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Controls (HIRAC) and Safe Work Instructions (SWI)
  • Participate in setting the standard of Good Manufacturing Practices and ensuring a safe work environment is always maintained.
  • Actively participate in Production and Pre-start meetings.
  • Accountable for adherence to our product Quality Control requirements (First part check) and ensure they are maintained for all production processes.
  • Perform and maintain OEE system (Axxos coding)
  • Able to work from technical drawings and instructions to complete allotted tasks
  • undertake tasks as instructed and operate appropriate equipment safely and in accordance with all instructions and guidelines, including health and safety
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment supplied as instructed
  • Generally, monitor the work and work practices being undertaken and completed and undertake required checks to identify problems
  • Fix minor issues, as appropriate, that may arise
  • Immediately notify direct Supervisor when issues occur that cannot be resolved by you
  • Ensure that continuous factory production is maintained wherever possible
  • Undertake required equipment inspection, maintenance and cleaning in accordance with instructions
  • Maintain accurate computer data/records/documentation associated with your work
  • Carry out planned tasks in accordance with requirements
  • Carry out tasks within prescribed time limits
  • Ensure compliance to quality standards, policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organization and/or its clients/customers to direct Supervisor.
  • Contribute towards the efficient running of the team.
  • Adhere to all organization policies and procedures

From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.
