Description:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience as a Credit Risk Analyst analysing company accounts and negotiating credit clauses on trading agreements.
  • Experience in the Power/Gas/Commodities and/or Renewable industry background required.
  • Motivated candidate with a very good eye for details. Excellent analytical, numerical, problem-solving and teamworking skills are also essential.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative credit assessment of the counterparty.
  • support the legal/origination team with credit clauses and negotiation of trading contracts
  • Monitor and support the control of credit risk and funds optimization through daily reporting/margining
  • Support managing the credit and relationship with counterparties, exchanges, brokers and energy wide support organizations.

HOW WILL I SPEND MY TIME IN THIS ROLE?

  • Analyse financial statements and preparing credit reviews for a broad range of UK generators, EU/Global gas/power/renewable certificates trading counterparties and, in general, energy sector counterparties.
  • Assist Legal and/or Originator team in arranging credit clauses/sections of agreements according to credit limits / policies. Review GTMA, NBP, EFET Gas/Power, EFET MNA, Emission/Renewable Certificates, PPA etc. credit related clauses.
  • Monitor exposures on a daily basis and proactively control exposure to avoid limit breach.
  • Maintain required approval limits and make new applications in accordance. with internal thresholds and rules. Proactively contacting counterparty with delinquent and/or at-risk exposures to assure repayment liaising with senior staff and/or debt management. Assists in the handling of bankruptcies/Legal procedure and contract terminations.
  • Back-up to prepare / process margin calls in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Calculate interest on cash and administer the portfolio of Letter of credits.
  • Report credit meeting minutes and produce monthly/weekly report on stress scenario, collection, limit breaches and various cash/treasury reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external/internal team, stakeholders and counterparties.
