QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in any Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 6 years working experience in Rail Operations.
  • Experience in inventory, distribution and logistics support is an added advantage.

SKILLS

  • Good communication and extraordinary interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Illustrator.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The job purpose is to manage procurement for TEL Station Service Operations, including purchasing, liaising with stakeholders and vendors, processing orders, drafting vendor specifications, and resolving issues. It also involves coordinating distribution, contributing to process improvement projects, and providing support during incidents or disruptions. Flexibility to take on extra tasks is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To manage purchases and requisitions of STEL Station Service Operations through Purchase Requisition or PR Creation, Small Value Purchase and Quotations. Candidate needs to work effectively with STEL SSO, STEL Project Team, vendors, and contractors to facilitate requested requisitions and purchases.
  • To process promptly Goods Received and Service Rendered via Ariba and work closely with stakeholders to ensure that all Goods Received and Service Rendered are processed promptly.
  • To draft specifications for participating vendors’ reference when raising PR through Request for Quotation or RFQ.
  • To perform evaluations for PRs raised via RFQ. Candidates will need to evaluate and justify vendor selections/awards.
  • To liaise with vendors for discrepancies, abnormalities and facilitate vendor and end user engagement for technical hitches, ground issues etc.
  • To provide effective and effective coordination with Point of Contacts and Warehouse to ensure efficient, fast distribution and dissemination to end users.
  • To be able to anticipate, address issues arising during distribution and dissemination that could affect or implicate operation’s performance and able to identify and organise distribution cum collection points in the station network.
  • To submit and complete Kaizen projects, displaying ability to generate and promote new ideas and use them to develop new or improved processes, methods, systems, solutions or services. Participating and championing technology-based innovations to further add value and emphasis of hard savings are strongly encouraged.
  • To readily respond and support SSO Ops in assisting station staff during station incident or Train service delay/Disruption and ad hoc event crowd management at stations.
  • To displays readiness to take on additional or assigned tasks within his/her job capacity when required by SSO Support.
