Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Traffic & Safety Engineering Associate based in Atlanta, Georgia. This is an opportunity to be involved with, but not limited to, Atlanta metropolitan high-density traffic safety solutions and rural traffic safety solutions using innovative traffic designs. Additionally, the position offers opportunities to work with AECOM’s offices worldwide on some of the most challenging, interesting, and diverse projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze vehicular and pedestrian crash data from Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) databases such as Numetric and GEARS.
- Conduct traffic safety related studies for projects contracted with the GDOT using technical tools.
- Assist with road safety audits, signal warrant analysis, signal timing/operations, traffic signal design, and engineering studies.
- Prepare traffic engineering study reports, transportation concept reports, and roadway safety audit reports using technical tools.
- Perform IntersectionControl Evaluations (ICE) analysis.
- Design intersection improvements such as turn lane additions, roundabouts, and restricted crossing u-turns.
- Lead interns and other junior-level staff in assignments as needed.
