Description:

DEPARTMENT & POSITION: Lead-Hand - Mt Bike Trail Crew
STATUS: Full time, seasonal
REPORTS TO: Trail Crew Supervisor
WORKING HOURS: Seasonal operation hours

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Passion for mountain biking
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Previous trail crew/landscaping/forestry experience an asset
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and abstract from ICBC
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of WSBC applicable rules and regulations
  • Equipment operations – Mini Excavator and skid steer

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Knowledge of current mountain bike developments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests of all ages, management, and other staff.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work well within a team and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Personal qualities & presentation.
  • Approachable, welcoming, friendly, and enthusiastic.
  • Punctuality and schedule flexibility are requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, Build and assist building of new trails, structures and features to industry standards
  • Ensure proper signage is appropriately placed and maintained according to industry standards
  • Use of PPE required in the performance of daily activities
  • Follow the occupational health and safety regulations
  • Follow Standard Operating Policies and Procedures as written
  • Proper assessment of risks/hazards and rectify as required to ensure the safety of self/other employees/contractors and guests
  • Maintain and care for company equipment and tools in an acceptable manner
  • Complete Maintenance logs and documentation records
  • Prompt return to work after breaks from work.
  • Willingly follow the directions as given by assigned supervisors and managers adhere to company policy as it applies to your job and conduct while at work
  • Supervising, motivating and directing a crew of 7 to 12 employees.
  • Complete daily documentation
  • Approve and enter payroll in ADP
