We are looking to hire an experienced Trailer Mechanic (Journeyman) to join our team in Grimshaw, Alberta.
As a Trailer Mechanic, you will inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty trailers. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to our trailer fleet.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Trade Certification or Red Seal as a Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic
  • Must have a Class 5 driver’s license at minimum - Class 3 is preferred
  • CVIP license
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, trailer related equipment and cutting abilities
  • Ability to lift heavy parts
  • Ability to work after-hours if required
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
  • Adjusting, testing, and repairing braking systems trailer suspensions, electrical systems, and offloading systems
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
  • Repairing damaged equipment parts and perform major repair work when necessary, including some cutting where needed
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on a verity of trailer styles
  • Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
