We are looking to hire an experienced Trailer Mechanic (Journeyman) to join our team in Grimshaw, Alberta.
As a Trailer Mechanic, you will inspect, service, and maintain our range of heavy-duty trailers. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to our trailer fleet.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Trade Certification or Red Seal as a Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic
- At least 3 years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Trailer Mechanic
- Must have a Class 5 driver’s license at minimum - Class 3 is preferred
- CVIP license
- Understanding of computer testing technologies
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, trailer related equipment and cutting abilities
- Ability to lift heavy parts
- Ability to work after-hours if required
- Good communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance
- Adjusting, testing, and repairing braking systems trailer suspensions, electrical systems, and offloading systems
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
- Repairing damaged equipment parts and perform major repair work when necessary, including some cutting where needed
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on a verity of trailer styles
- Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed
