The Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is starting out in their Finance career and looking for a varied role across Finance functions whilst being sponsored to complete the ACCA qualification over a period of three years. You’ll spend time working in different teams in Finance, gaining exposure and experience across a variety of functions including; the Statutory Reporting Team, Tax Team, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team, Service Charge Team and Commercial Finance.
  • Your prime reporting line will be into the Financial Reporting Manager however as you rotate around the function a line manager in each respective team will give you day to day direction and be your main point of contact.
  • Balancing workload and responsibilities with studying for and completing ACCA exams, which are sponsored by Landsec.
  • Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum

What you will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and post journals to account for routine and ad hoc transactions
  • Prepare inputs to the monthly management information pack
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the Group Finance team during the half year and year end procedures, including note preparation and audit support
  • Contribute towards the department’s housekeeping, filing, record maintenance and internal control procedures, with ownership over particular workstreams
  • Other internal liaison (tax, company secretary, billings, service charges) and external liaison (auditors) in respect of queries and information relating to management and financial accounting
  • To be familiar with and keep abreast of latest accounting requirements / standards and company law and contribute understanding as necessary to the Group’s financial reporting
  • Undertake ad-hoc accounting projects and special reviews as required
  • Complete a rotation programme (three month placements with 60% of time in work dedicated to secondment team and 40% dedicated to Group Finance) around the Finance function to gain exposure and experience across a variety of roles, including the Statutory Reporting team, Tax team, FP&A, Service Charge and Commercial Finance. At the end of each rotation, prepare and present a summary of experience gained, achievements, learnings and observations
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required by management from time to time to undertake other tasks or duties considered to be relevant to the general function of the Group Finance team and the business
  • The prime reporting responsibility will be to the Financial Reporting Manager, with rotating reporting lines to team leads during secondments within the wider Finance function

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Undergraduate degree
  • GCSE in Maths and English
  • Commitment to complete the ACCA qualification (sponsored by Landsec) within a 3 year period
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload, balancing studies alongside work deadlines (study and exam leave will be provided)
  • Good Excel and Word skills
