Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary role of the Trainee Accountant will involve being a key member of the month end process supporting the Management Accountant and Financial Controller on financial close and reporting. The role will also involve working closely with Operations on resource utilisation. The Trainee Accountant will provide support on the forecasting and year-end processes along with leading bi-annual stocktakes and associated process improvement projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the month-end process including the preparation journal postings; balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of P&L/ balance sheet/ cash flow.
  • Regular monthly financial reporting for management and group.
  • Preparation and review of project margins, with the ability to interpret this data and share findings.
  • Responsible for the fixed asset register, carrying out asset verifications and capitalising assets monthly, along with sharing best practise knowledge around capex and disposals.
  • Supporting the labour absorption/utilisation process. Running daily reports for operations.
  • Sharing responsibility with the current expense administrator on dealing with expenses queries as they arise along with raising tickets with the shared service centre.
  • Support the annual stocktake process along with monthly cycle counts of inventory.
  • Other duties/ projects as they arise. This maybe offering support or taking the lead.
  • Provide any ad hoc support to the finance team as and when required.
