As a trainee you are an important part of our energetic and fun Technology Risk team. In addition to your team, you will also have your own Career Counselor and a skilled community to support you in each step of the way. Our team works with a flexible hybrid working model, where you, for the most part, can decide where and when to work. However, we do appreciate meeting you occasionally/weekly at our new and modern office in the heart of Helsinki.
Technology is changing the way businesses are operating. New technologies provide businesses with the potential to deliver new services, operate in new markets, and to change the way they operate. Data generated from information systems is increasing rapidly enabled by digitalization. Associated with these opportunities come risks. We at EY’s Technology Risk team provide independent assurance and advice over diverse issues related to IT risks and controls. Our engagements focus on IT audit and assurance within external and internal audit as well as service organisation control reporting (e.g. according to ISAE standards). But we also work on evaluation of internal controls (especially IT enabled), assessment and/or evaluation of IT systems and the mitigation of IT-related business risks and data analytics.
Your key responsibilities
As a trainee you will be performing client engagements as a part of the engagement teams. You are working together with more experienced colleagues and your day-to-day work tasks include interviewing IT and finance personnel, analyzing material and system settings, conducting control testing, documenting the work performed and preparing the reporting of audit findings to relevant stakeholders. You together with your colleagues will be responsible that the work delivered to clients is of high quality. The length of the traineeship is five and half months. The traineeship will start in mid-August 2024 and last s until end of January 2025.
What we look for

To qualify for the role, we expect you to have:

  • Suitable education in economics, social sciences, humanities, mathematics, statistics, advanced analytics, computer science, information systems, engineering, accounting, business analytics, or a similar field. You are preferably soon finalizing your studies or have already graduated.
  • Good skills in MS Office. Other technical skills (programming languages, analytics tools etc.) are considered an asset.
  • Fluent skills in Finnish and English (written and oral).
  • Overall understanding, strong interest or even experience in auditing, IT, IT processes or business processes.
  • Great communication skills, self-oriented way of working habits and high motivation.
  • You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. What you know matters. But the right mindset is just as important in determining success. We’re looking for people who are innovative, can work in an agile way and keep pace with a rapidly changing world. You have the confidence and ability to actively communicate, network and collaborate with colleagues and clients.
