Overview:
NOTE: The Futures Programme begins in September 2024. Early starts may occur based on business need.
Are you ready to launch your career in a stable industry at a company committed to your professional growth? Futures is a tailored, development programme designed to accelerate your career. During this 2-year programme you will learn the industry, and the fundamentals of analyzing, supporting and assisting with merger and acquisition (M&A) transactions including how to manage the pipeline of M&A transactions at various stages.
Futures will equip participants, with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the world of insurance brokering and risk management. All hours spent learning your role are hours worked and are paid competitively. This is a full-time role in a global, Fortune 500 company.
Responsibilities:
Every day presents new challenges, ensuring your work remains dynamic and engaging. As an M&A Analyst Trainee, you’ll learn to:
- Assist the M&A Leadership team and Senior staff with M&A transactions of low to moderate complexity including support pricing research, negotiation of transactions, due diligence processes, and negotiation of binding documentation
- Analyze financial data related to pricing, legal due diligence materials, and all other documentation for integration planning and deal-closings
- Prepare valuation models and Board reports; Maintain data for our M&A pipeline using our deal database and internal management reporting tools
- Develop strong project management and documentation practices; Collaborate across functions to ensure information is communicated and tasks are well-coordinated
Qualifications:
- Educated in Business, Finance or related field preferred, not required
- Eligible to work in the UK
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
- Learn the general insurance market (London Market / Lloyd’s and Industry)
- Master the valuation of and the standards for the acquisition of companies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word (document creation), Excel (gather, organise, and analyze data), PowerPoint (create proposals and presentations)
- Gather, organize and analyze large data sets
- Knowledge of project management concepts
SKILLS
- Excellent communication including active listening, verbal and written communication
- Excellent social and interpersonal skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact and emotional intelligence
- Able to care for sophisticated and highly confidential information
- Comfortable working autonomously and across multiple tasks and reporting into different project working teams and staff members
- Numerate with the ability to analyse and present data in a relevant way
- Creatively solve problems
