Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a band 6 trainee nurse colposcopist uplifiting to band 7 on completion of accredititation. Once accredited, the expectation is that the post holder will undertake hysteroscopy training. The final grading will be Band 8a once both colposcopy and hysterscopy training are completed.
Under the supervision of the Lead Medical and Lead Nurse Colposcopist/Hysteroscopist, manage a patient caseload, providing expert assessment, evaluation and treatment within Colposcopist/Hysteroscopist care.
Under the supervision of the Lead Medical and Lead Nurse Colposcopist/Hysterscopist, assess, diagnose and manage the care of women referred to the colposcopy/hysterscopy clinic and communicate these sensitively with patients where the outcome may be emotive.

To provide support to patients via telephone when required.
Using Basic Counselling skills, empathy and sympthay to communicate to patients both face to face and over the telephone about complex and sensitive information.
To attend a BSCCP recognised National colposcopy meeting at least once every 3 years.
To attend a BSGE recognised National meeting at least once every 2 years.
In collaboration with the Lead Medical and Lead Nurse Colposcopist/Hysteroscopist, participate in the continuing development of these specialist services. That includes patient centred evidence-based programmes of care and a continuous quality improvement programme.
Participate in the development and implementation of the multi-professional standards and clinical protocols for Colposcopy/Hysteroscopy services
