Lincolnshire Talking Therapies Service has a number of Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners positions available across the county. Candidates will be asked for their preference at interview. Successful applicants will work in the service whilst attending Lincoln University for 1 day per week to study for a Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national initiative, which has fundamentally changed the way psychological treatments are provided.
The service provides NICE approved treatment for people with common mental health problems. Successful Trainees will use interventions via telephone, video, computer messaging, group work, email or other methods.
Regular supervision will be provided by qualified supervisors. The service has a strong commitment towards ongoing learning (CPD), staff wellbeing and providing quality services. Candidates will train at Band 4 level, rising to Band 5 upon qualification and candidates will be asked to sign a contract binding them to work for the Trust for 2 years post-qualification.
We are looking for motivated individuals with at least a year’s experience of working in a mental health setting. Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree or be able to demonstrate that they can study at post/undergraduate level. Candidates must be available to start the course on 10th September 2024.

The post holder will provide assessment and guided self-help interventions for a range of common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, within an existing NHS Talking Therapies Service whilst undertaking a Postgraduate/Undergraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions at Lincoln University. The focus of the role is to provide a high volume of low intensity treatments to the people referred to the service.

To successfully complete and pass the Post Graduate/Undergraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions.
Undertake psychological assessment of patients referred to the service. Assessments will include identification of the patients’ problem, comprehensive risk assessment and identification of goals for therapy.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to service eligibility criteria.
Refer patients who are not suitable for Step 2 interventions to Step 3 high intensity treatment or other relevant services as necessary.
Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume low intensity psychological treatments. This may include Step 2 courses or groups; computerised CBT and Guided Self Help (GSH). This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media in line with IAPT guidance and training.
To deliver group or individual interventions in line with service requirements and operational guidelines.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service, protecting confidentiality at all times.
To attend team meetings, clinical skills, case management and training events as required by the Service
