Description:

Are you looking for a new career working with people and really making a difference? Or a role with a clear pathway for progression?
North Bristol Trust are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic Healthcare Support Workers to join wards across our Medicine, Anaesthesia, Surgery, Critical Care & Renal and Neurological & Musculoskeletal Divisions.

WHY APPLY?

Healthcare Support Workers are a core member of the team delivering direct care to patients and supporting registered practitioners to deliver high quality, compassionate healthcare. You will carry out a range of clinical and non-clinical tasks, under the direct or indirect supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner, whilst maintaining our Trust values - Caring, Ambitious, Respectful and Supportive.
This Trainee Senior HCSW role is a Band 2 to Band 3 development role for candidates who have an existing Level 3 Qualification (e.g. A Levels, NVQ Level 3). Experience in a care role would be an advantage but not essential. Please note we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
Senior HCSW role is a Band 3 role and previous healthcare experience, a Level 3 Healthcare qualification and completion of functional skills are an essential requirement for direct entry into this role.
Working as a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be involved with direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients. You will be working alongside a Registered Nurse to provide essential nursing care and helping your patients with daily living tasks such as:
helping patients feel comfortable and move around
monitoring patients and performing basic health checks
washing, dressing patients and helping them go to the toilet
serving meals and helping to feed patients
Upon successful completion of clinical skills training, as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker, you will also be expected to carry out a range of clinical duties with minimal / no supervision, including:
blood pressure monitoring
oxygen saturation levels
body temperature
pulse rate and respiration rate
glucose monitoring
wound swab
collection and testing of urine, faecal and sputum samples
Whilst completing these tasks, the underlining aim is to deliver high-quality patient care at all times.
