Description:

We are looking for an appropriately qualified person to come and join the Maternity Ultrasound Department and be trained into a qualified sonographer vacancy that we currently hold. Ideally the applicant will already be qualified as a radiographer or midwife, however a nurse with any other relevant background will be considered.
The work within the department, includes obstetric, general gynaecological, fertility and emergency gynaecological examinations.

Train to undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging under supervision.
Formulate and issue clinical reports under supervision. To promote and encourage good effective professional practices in the department by example
To participate under supervision in advanced clinical based practicTo have a professional and courteous manner and always uphold the reputation of the ultrasound department.
Observe confidentiality with respect to the trust patient, staff and NHS information at all
The West Berkshire Breast Screening Service at present provides regular screening for 64,000 women over 3 years in a Breast Screening unit located opposite The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and on two mobiles which visit various sites around the lovely countryside of West Berkshire. This figure will rise to 80,000 with the full implementation of the Age Extension.
