MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to operate effectively as part of a team.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to operate complex equipment in accordance with SOPs.
  • Safety conscious with ability to operate safely in a diverse and high-pressure environment.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Must be able to work remotely within a team with minimal supervision.
  • Must have good problem-solving abilities.
  • Physically fit with a genuine love of all things outdoors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous drone flying experience and ability to learn advanced flying skills.
  • Knowledge of photography.
  • Knowledge of airspace management & current CAA regulations
  • Knowledge/experience of oil & gas, utilities, or renewables industries.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

The role of a Drone pilot is central to the execution of Cyberhawk’s Inspection & survey services. Working in pairs with an engineer, in often challenging environments, the Pilot is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of field flight plans to provide Cyberhawk’s engineers with reliable data to make safety critical decisions on maintenance of assets.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • This role involves a lot of travelling, occasionally for a few months at a time. You may be away from home most weeks and sometimes weekends. However, while away you will be visiting locations with amazing scenery and be well looked after in terms of accommodation and meal allowances.
  • You may have to hike up and down some stunning hills, in the rain, hail or shine but don’t worry we will give you the best kit for the job, your safety is our number one priority.
  • You won’t be chained to a 9-5 schedule, you may be up early one morning, or working late one night.
  • You will typically work in a team of two and on occasion be in remote areas, so you need to be responsible and get on with people, at the same time impressing the client with a fantastic job done!
  • We all work hard, but we try and have fun while we are doing it and with lots of regular social activities.
  • Base salaries for Trainee Pilots start at £24k per year, quickly rising to £27k per year after initial training, which increases as you rise through the levels. Generous allowances are paid on top while you are working in the field – these can add up especially when you do international and offshore work – our top pilots earn over £50k a year!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct drone operations in a controlled manner as Pilot in Command across multiple drone platforms, systems and payloads.
  • Perform Pre/In flight procedures and checks while adhering to company Procedures
  • Perform Post operations management, including data handover and flight documentation.
  • Log daily operations using in-house work pack management system.
  • Assist with job preparation such as creation of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement), equipment management, organising travel & accommodation.
  • Adhere to Cyberhawk’s highest standards of health and safety.
