Trainer/Assessor - NT

HIA Learning provides practical training for a range of building and construction trade qualifications. With more than 2500 learners nationwide, we are seeking a NT based qualified Trainer/Assessor to provide future builders and tradies with those extra tips and tricks that can only be gained from someone who has “been there, done that”. Your years of industry experience and training expertise will mentor HIA’s CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry Apprenticeship Program.

We are actively seeking a full-time talented and engaging trainer/assessor that will:

  • Provide quality training and assessment to participants.
  • Mentor participants through their apprenticeship program.
  • Conduct on site visits where required and completes site visit reports for funding purposes.
  • Ensure the quality of training complies with HIA’s Registered Training Organisation requirements and the Standards for RTO’s 2015, regulated by ASQA.
  • Deliver support sessions to assist with participant’ learning pathway.
  • Liaise with other HIA Trainers/Assessors in relation to ongoing HIA continuous improvement and product review.
  • Engage in industry forums to inform and promote HIA’s training activities.
  • Complete other tasks as required to contribute towards the running of a profitable and compliant business unit.
  • Travel to regional and remote locations if required.
  • Work flexible hours.
  • Support the greater HIA Learning team.

The successful candidate must have well developed communication and student engagement skills, be open to continuous improvement, and maintain compliant assessment and marking standards.
This role is an opportunity to educate and upskill future industry practitioners to apply their knowledge of basic building and construction principles, to work effectively and safely onsite.

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS, BUT NOT MANDATORY:

  • An understanding of the VET sector and training packages, particularly the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package 05/09/19.
