Description:
TRAINER
On Behalf of our client Procom is seeking an Trainer for a full-time contract position with a term of 6 months. The ideal candidate will have a balance of 80% trainer and 20% Business Analyst in terms of experience/expertise. The role is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and offers a hybrid work model.
TRAINER JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Successfully engage, drive, and facilitate multiple initiatives and deliverables simultaneously as assigned by the IT/OT PMO
- Provide input on the development and evolution of the IT/OT PMO Training and Business Analysis Frameworks, and related Stage Gate Lifecycle components.
- Develop and manage all aspects of a comprehensive training strategy for IT projects, considering the unique needs of different user groups.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Design and create training materials, including user manuals, e-learning modules, job aids, and reference guides.
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and tailor training content accordingly.
- Plan and execute end-user and train-the-trainer training sessions, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis (as required).
- Develop requirements specifications (Business, Functional, Non-Functional, usability, data and reporting requirements as required).
- Collaborate with project team members including subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Provide recommendations of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to business analysis and training in IT/OT project management.
- Continuously improve IT/OT PMO Frameworks and processes based on user feedback and changing project requirements.
TRAINER MANDATORY SKILLS:
- At least 6 years of demonstrated working experience in a Training role
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Highly analytical, creative thinker, and avid problem solver
- Ability to understand the business architecture being analyzed
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
- Experience with developing test plans and scenarios and the holistic quality assurance process as required
- Post-secondary degree in computer science or business or 5 – 8 years equivalent work experience
- Ensure a shared common understanding among all stakeholders of what information must be protected and the reason why (for example regulatory compliance)
TRAINER NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience in the Power Utility is a plus
- Business Analyst certification is an asset
- Maximo, Workday, and Denoto experience
